With high strength, low thermal conductivity and strong resistance to penetration, the impermeable material can prevent aluminum liquid from penetration and erosion, thus prolonging the service life of the electrolytic cell, and at the same time preventing the electrolyte from entering the refractory heat insulation layer and increasing its thermal conductivity, which will lead to increase in the power consumption of the electrolytic cell. The construction of impermeable material is fast and convenient, and it can be warmed up quickly without baking, mainly used in the bottom of electrolyzer tank to replace the refractory bricks and Al2 O3 layer as impermeable layer.
